Message to Families, March 17

Lakedell families:

This message was sent out via School Messenger to emails and texts this morning. Since we do not have up-to-date contacts for all families, we are also posting here.

We await guidance from WRPS regarding all aspects of school operations. For now, staff are at the building and are working to get ready for what may come next. We do not know, at this time, specific expectations for providing students with assignments while classes are cancelled. Please continue to be patient with us while we plan. At this time, teaches are not prepared to communicate anything specific.

Parent teacher interviews scheduled for this week are cancelled. We will be mailing home report cards that were not distributed on Friday.

At this time, the building is closed to non-staff. Student materials cannot yet be collected.  As you know from media reports, we have no idea how long this situation will exist. Unfortunately, I have no other new information at this time. I will let you know when we know how we are moving forward.

Your best sources of information on education and health matters are the Government of Alberta and Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools. If there is anything specific to our school community that I can communicate, please trust that I will let you know as soon as possible.

In the meantime, stay healthy, practice the guidelines we’ve been provided, and enjoy time with your family. I will contact you again when I know something specific. Donald
